How to Save Your Assistant's Contact

You received a .VCF file (also called a vCard) with your assistant's contact information. Follow the instructions below for your device.

Desktop Computer

Mac

  1. Open the email and locate the attached .vcf file
  2. Click the attachment to download it (usually saves to Downloads)
  3. Open Finder and click Downloads
  4. Double-click the downloaded .vcf file
  5. The Contacts app will open automatically
  6. Review the contact and click Add to Contacts

Windows PC

  1. Open the email and download the attached .vcf file
  2. Open File Explorer and go to your Downloads folder
  3. Double-click the .vcf file
  4. If prompted, choose Open or Import
  5. Confirm that you would like to save the contact
  6. If it opens in Outlook, click Save & Close

Mobile Device

iPhone (iOS)

  1. Open the email in your Mail app
  2. Tap the attached .vcf file
  3. A contact preview will appear
  4. Tap Add Contact
  5. Choose Create New Contact or Add to Existing Contact
  6. Tap Done

Android

  1. Open the email in your email app (such as Gmail)
  2. Tap the attached .vcf file
  3. When prompted, select Contacts
  4. Tap Import or Save
  5. Choose the account where you'd like to save the contact (Google account recommended)

Having trouble?

Make sure the file has fully downloaded before opening it. If nothing happens when you tap or click the file, try selecting "Open With" and choose Contacts or Outlook.
